This is a reproduction of a jacket for prisoners of war prepared by the U.S. Navy during World War II. The fabric used is a hickory stripe, and the shape is the same as the Navy's denim utility jacket, with a rounded shawl collar and patch pockets on the bottom. The buttons are change buttons that are fastened from the back with a G-shape ring. Unlike tack buttons, these buttons do not require a special hammer, and because they are not thread fastened, they are a rational detail that will not come off due to thread breakage.
