Royal Wedding: Following the Royal wedding on Friday, there was a surge in searches for the term “vintage wedding dress”, up 297% in the following 48hrs – influenced by Princess Beatrice vintage wedding dress. Searches for the keyword “60s wedding dress” also increased by 80%. Meanwhile, demand for crystal-embellished pieces and organza sleeve tops, as well as dresses, also increased week-on-week.
Handbags: Looking at the category as a whole, demand for handbags has declined over the past few months. However, interest for canvas tote bags and mini bags, in particular, has been strong lately, with searches rising by 46% week-on-week and 22% over the past 2 weeks, respectively.
Jacquemus: After the brand presented its SS21 show last week, pageviews for Jacquemus pieces spiked by 186% within 24hrs. Top viewed styles for the brand throughout the week include: Le Bob Artichaut Bucket Hat and Le Petit Chiquito Suede Bag.
Checks and stripes: Searches for ‘checked’ and ‘striped’ tops have increased 103% collectively over the last three months, no doubt due to the results of zoom calls and dressing from the waist up. Checked shirts have spiked a further 38% over the last two weeks with styles by ASOS, Étoile Isabel Marant and Jacquemus being the most viewed.
Eye-catching swimwear: Over the last month, interest in ‘cut out’, ‘asymmetric’ and ‘high cut’ swimwear has risen significantly and searches are collectively up 48%. Cult-Gaia, Adriana Degreas and OYE Swimwear have seen the sharpest increase in searches related to these terms.
Designer towels: As more people decide to go on vacation, searches for designer and “luxury” beach towels went up 16% month-on-month. Versace’s logo jacquard has been the most wanted beach towel over the past month, whilst other trending brands include Fendi, Balmain, Kenzo and Missoni.
