Mermaidcore: Ocean-inspired pieces are amongst this season’s fastest rising trends. Over the past month, searches including the terms “mermaid”, “starfish” and “seashell” increased 51% collectively. At the same time, searches for “mermaid tees” grew 19% while page views for earrings including the term “starfish” rose 23% month-on-month. Looking at jewelry, “shell” and “coral” pieces are also trending; Rixo’s triangle shell earrings, Anni Lu’s shell earrings and Wald Berlin’s shell chain necklace are the most wanted ones.
Fitted caps: As the way we dress shifts, shoppers’ interests in hats are growing. When looking at the year-on-year searches, there has been an increase of 216% for people looking for fitted caps and snapbacks in the past month. The most frequently searched items include the New Era LA Dodgers Cap, New Era New York Yankees Cap and the New Era Boston Red Socks Cap.
Clogs: Clogs are currently having a moment, with searches having increased 124% compared to the same time last year. Especially searches for wooden clogs are rapidly increasing; they’re currently up 65% month-on-month. Popular models, apart from Birkenstock’s all-time favorite Arizona clogs, are these Chanel leather clogs, the MIA Alma clogs and Dolce & Gabbana’s heeled clogs.
Genderless watches: Over the past 3 months, searches for “unisex” watches have spiked 45%. Gender-neutral and classic designs by Rolex, Tissot and Omega are the most sought after. Watches in a 40-millimeter format or larger, that would have historically been categorized for men, are trending amongst female shoppers with page views up 153%. Same goes for automatic and mechanical watches (+125%). Meanwhile, over the same timeframe male shoppers have been searching for 38mm cases or smaller (+149%) and gem-cut pieces (+146%).
