Mercado Global, the fashion brand with a social conscience, all began in 2004 when two college students created a label that would tackle the chronic poverty they witnessed on their travels in Latin America. By uniting more than 300 artisans working in more than 20 cooperatives across Guatemala, these two innovative creatives have built a network of local manufacturers who craft beautiful pieces and take dramatic steps towards healing the cycle of poverty in their communities.
