It was after working at Yves Saint Laurent and with the aim to 'create a new luxury', 'a French brand', that Thierry Gillier launched Zadig & Voltaire in 1997: the ultra hip Parisian label that fuses luxury fashion design with urban style and streetwear cool. Think skinny fit pants, luxe basics and slogan knits that exude an effortless vibe that is typical of the French's trademark nonchalance towards fashion. Stark silhouettes are set off with graphic prints, edgy embellishments and sudden pops of brights. Layer loose sweaters or shrunken slip dresses under oversized blazers for an androgynous feel.
