After a frustrating shopping experience looking for the right pair of shoes, Nick Swinmurn decided to start his own online shoe retailer in 1999. With the idea to offer only the best selection of brands, styles, sizes and even widths, Zappos was born. More than a decade later, nothing is off limits to this American e-tailer, with clothing, bags, jewelry and accessories all now sitting under the Zappos umbrella.
